The music is some of the best that I've heard on the DS.
Animated cut scenes are gorgeous and weird to see on the DS.
The story is long and epic.
The games protagonists are interesting, unique and you genuinely care for them.

The touch controls with the stylus don't read as well as using the actual buttons.

Several innovations on its gameplay, like the new game
+ system.
Good looking graphics for its time.
Well written, epic story and good characters.
Being one of the first games to have multiple endings.

The game can be quite easy and short. It can sometimes be slightly cryptic. The combat is a bit simple.

Streamlined turn-based combat with defined characters and roles who can unite special attacks
The best pixel art and animation for a JRPG on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, making it look awesome today
Tightly paced with no filler or random battles, making this a lean and action-packed turn-based JRPG
New game plus and multiple endings add tons of hours of replay value

Max HP is just under one thousand which severely exposes character vulnerabilities in the endgame
Crono is overpowered and Magus is no where near as effective as he should be according to the story
