Refreshing and masterful take on classic survival-horror gameplay and atmosphere
Tense and weighty combat and stealth
Gritty and unbearably dank pixel art that makes you feel like you need a shower
The harrowing soundscape realizes the horrors of trench warfare in 1916
Highly replayable with plenty of unlockables
It can be a little hard to discern the perspective and space in some areas
Harder modes have foes absorb absurd amounts of bullets

An inspired setting for a survival horror game
Presents war as the terrible event that it is
With the game?s context in mind, it?s a good map
Strikes an immaculate tone and atmosphere
Terrific lo-fi audiovisual presentation calls to mind decades-old classics
Inventory management doesn?t serve the horror like the imagery does, it?s just painful
Stationary reload leaves you too open to attack
Tracking the objective can be a little hard to follow
Those bloody rats!

The atmosphere of horror is achieved without the presence of monsters.
Beautiful feeling of exploration.
The survival elements have been implemented in a balanced manner.
The low-resolution aesthetic may not be "easily accessible" to everyone, but it suits the nature of the game.
The battle is the most typical, although at least it is functional.
Sometimes, it seems that backtracking could have been avoided.

War depicted through the lens of survival horror is unique and really strong

Very accessible for survival-horror: Four levels of difficulty (including two easy ones)
Lower difficulty levels provide more inventory slots at the beginning.
On request, automatic checkpoints and backup without storage element.
12
+ hours of gameplay and multiple endings
Reloading after each shot is a thematically appropriate handicap in battles.
Design associated with war atrocities creates an atmosphere of intense horror.
Rats and other means of generating enemies that can be tactically disabled.
The shortage of resources and limited inventory lead to exciting trade-offs.
Some strange locks typical of Resi, but often puzzle obstacles adapted to the setting.
The low-resolution crumb graphic leaves room for imagination to fill in the gaps.
Very low hardware requirements
Deafening and oppressive soundtrack. Interrupted by relaxing pieces.
A frightening warlike sound atmosphere and the use of sounds at unexpected moments for a surprise effect (not too cheap).
Good speakers for German soldiers
Aiming with a controller is more difficult compared to a mouse.
The menus are not optimized for mouse control.
Partially on standby, as the routes to the chests are too long.
A very weak AI compromises the attempt to make opponents more human.
Resetting all enemies by leaving the room can be easily exploited.
Low diversity of opponents
The action takes up little space.
The immobility during aiming is probably more boring than tense for some.
Short loading time when changing zones.
Graph overall too brown in brown.

Merciless and with a dark soul that captivates the player and never lets them go.
The dynamics created while playing generate tension and strong commitment.
Artistically very valuable
His message is universal.
Some rough edges in its gameplay could be an insurmountable obstacle.
