Brutal melee additions fit beautifully alongside the gunplay
The Shield Saw is one of the best gaming ?weapons? in modern history
Secret hunting is a wild and rewarding part of the entire game
Story is a thrilling pulp-fest from start to finish

Runs Well
Combat Variety
High Replay Value
Complete Experience
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Designing vertical and challenging levels, including collectible objects, secret areas, and challenges.
We deepened its lore by including a more solid narrative.
Its arsenal continues to overflow with personality and the shield mechanic is a real success in terms of gameplay.
New gameplay mechanics such as combat on the back of a mechanical dragon and the use of the colossal mecha, which bring variety to the gameplay.
There is a lack of more variety in the enemies.
We could have made better use of the dragon.
Secondary challenges could better exploit the gameplay.

The new arsenal offers a lot of possibilities.
More different enemies than ever in DOOM.
Some slightly rigid contextual animations

The gameplay remains as solid as in the previous ones, offering high doses of action.
The inclusion of parrying as a central mechanic in shootouts
A huge variety of wacky situations that create a fantasy of supreme power.
The level design is more ambitious than ever.
The story is a bit weak, but the effort is appreciated.
The cutscenes that interrupt the action and go against the pace of the game.
The soundtrack is somewhat less iconic than that of previous games.
Amazing action
Good old-fashioned Boomer Shooter fun with modern mechanics

Super Shotgun is once again the MVP
Shield provides lots of offensive and defensive options
Every action feels visceral and powerful
Mechs feel like a natural extension of core gameplay
Occasionally obtuse puzzle design

The Shield Saw is an excellent new addition
Varied toolset boasts enjoyable new melee weapons
Excellent roster of guns and demons
Thrilling, adrenaline-fueled gameplay that requires full and proper utilization of the Slayer's full arsenal
Engaging exploration
Excellent boss fights and set piece levels
Looks gorgeous.
Progression is a bit too straightforward.

Several possible adjustments of details in case of damages suffered or inflicted, timing of bets, pace of play and much more.
Also very playable with the game controller.
Field of vision also adjustable on the console
The levels already played can be replayed directly upon request.
Fast and frantic shooting action
Panel saw, absolutely awesome tool.
Lush and varied arsenal of weapons
High solo playtime (for an appropriate difficulty level of 15 years and older)
Almost always fair and well-placed checkpoints.
Motivating progression system
The sections on dragons and on Atlan bring diversity.
Overall, the level design is very good.
Many secrets and bonus items
Pleasant puzzle and platform sections (much fewer and significantly better than in Eternal)
Technically exquisite graphics based on the id Tech 8 engine.
Design of a fantastic opponent
A huge level of detail for weapons, environments, and enemies.
Smooth representation throughout
Very short loading times, often invisible.
Catchy metal soundtrack
Powerful and rewarding sound effects
Completely and well dubbed in German.
Later, there will be one or two big fights too many.
The dragon battle is only moderately successful.
The story brings little added value.
Some application domains are visually rather dull.

... you want a beautifully orchestrated solo campaign from start to finish.
Your alarm clock plays a metal song in the morning.
... you prefer slow-paced gunfights in shooting games.
... you prefer listening to Pur rather than Slayer.

Story deepens the journey
Shield parrying reshapes gameplay
Strong weapon variety
Impressive visual and audio
Sometimes repetitive music loops

The new parry mechanic is appreciated.
The biggest and baddest chapter of DOOM of all time!
Technically flawless on console.
The appearance of enemies almost always follows the same order, becoming predictable.

Satisfing new combat mechanics
Simple and streamlined upgrade system
Smooth buttery gameplay
Amazing head banging, heavy metal soundtrack
No more air and side dashing
Dragon combat sections aren't overly fun

Exciting scenario
Variety within the countryside composed of 22 chapters.
Complex shooting mechanics - thanks to blocking and parrying, now a bit more tactical.
vast arsenal of weapons with additional features and numerous enhancements
Puzzle and vehicle passages
Many adjustment options
Hidden jokes and cross-references for loyal fans
Sometimes very chaotic
The story is correct, but it is rather secondary.

Mecha Dragon and Atlan Mech levels are huge fun
Looks bloody brilliant
Lengthy campaign

Fun (and long) single-player campaign
Fantastic weapons
Shield and new melee combat
Veteran Doom players may scoff at the game's slower pace
Mecha and dragon-riding features feel very one-dimensional
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Lively, fluid and frenetic as always;
Technically stunning and impressive;
The fight is extremely meticulous and precise.
Left with a villain and a repetitive dragon;
The rhythm is often interrupted by certain factors.

The shield was an excellent addition.
Wonderful soundtrack
Translation and localization PT-BR
Lack of memorable leaders
The soundtrack, although excellent, does not feature any memorable songs.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Incredible visuals, with various well-built environments
Complete localization for Brazilian Portuguese
Audio work is, once again, a great strength.
The narrative borrowing enriches the experience.
There is no type of multiplayer interaction, which could be cool.

Often feels simply epic
Great soundtrack
Brutal and hyperkinetic fights
The graphics performance is excellent.
The feeling of repetitiveness can be a harmful factor.
The story begins in a somewhat fragmented way.

Fantastic visual design and audio.
A good, long, meaty campaign.
Great level design, with some huge scale battles at points.
Glory kills have gone from regular combat.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Visually sublime
Spectacular sound of weapons
Well-balanced weaponry
Shield bringing a bestial aspect to the game
Lack of charm in the scenario
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Big levels packed with secrets
The Slayer is still a powerful presence
Great boss-filled third act
New characters aren?t interesting enough to the justify story focus
Dragon and Mech stages are very basic
The Dark Ages concept isn?t fully explored

polished
and exciting. Great and truly fitting setting and design style.

Parry-focused combat is rewarding and varied
Loaded with challenges and secrets
You can pilot a mech!!!
Combat is slower and less exhilarating than the prior game
Ray tracing requirement on PC adds major performance burden

Shield Saw and mace are excellent
Fun exploration in bigger levels
Industry-leading audio design
Throwaway story

The most metal art direction in recent memory
Varied roster of both familiar and creative new weapons
Mini-dungeons and areas with specific ideas are welcomes changes of pace
Ridiculous (in a good way) third act
The smooth, old-school gunplay blends well with the punchy melee mechanics
Weak, forgettable narrative
Giant mech and dragon sections don?t reach their full potential
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Awesome guns and gameplay
Compelling upgrade system
?Bullet hell? style makes less sense on lower difficulties
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

The shield is an excellent novelty.
Brute force and technique at the same time
The dragon and the mecha, far from being unforgettable
Soundtrack in the background

Impressive selection of customisable weaponry to suit individual playing styles
Solid level design with satisfyingly hard-to-reach secret areas
Visually arresting, while not breaking as many technical barriers as past Dooms
Demon designs - and executions - surprisingly lack id?s usual imagination
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Wide variety of situations and missions...
Satisfying, tactical and thoughtful combat system...
Accessible and customizable gameplay;
...but the theoretically spectacular sections are not very incisive from a gameplay perspective.
...but with a slower overall pace and less adrenaline-inducing.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Gunplay remains as brutal as ever
+
The shield is a good addition to combat
+
Entertaining visuals and aesthetics
The story and the Slayer himself lack personality
-
Melee and parrying focus don't justify the loss of mobility
-
Dragon and mech sequences are pretty shallow

Dazzling spectacle and heavy metal vistas
Meaty combat and visceral action with satisfying gore
Massive levels and considerate warnings for when players are about to cross points of no return
The skull crusher is an excellent new weapon
The publisher couldn't be bothered to release the physical game with the game actually on the disc
The story has become very unDoom-like, focusing on uninteresting characters, and feels more like Warhammer 40K
Out of place turret sections, dull mecha sequences, and gimmicky dragon set-pieces that get in the way of the main gameplay
For a $70 dollar AAA game, it's too short, too mindless, and lacks multiplayer/co-op, and insulting yellow paint guidance

Excellent combat
Intricate level design
Looks fantastic
Underwhelming mech and dragon missions
Dynamically flat action throughout
Fast-paced gameplay is intact despite the removal of dodge mechanics
New mech and dragon missions provide some gameplay diversity
Platforming segments have been virtually removed and exploration is less vertical
Cinematic execution moves are almost nonexistant
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Technically, it is amazing, especially regarding asset streaming and loading.
Granular difficulty management greatly increases replayability.
On the most open maps, we notice a certain flatness in the design of the levels.
Sometimes, there is a discrepancy between the videos and the gameplay.

No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
A varied arsenal of weapons with no real bad choices.
Useful upgrades for firearms, shield, and close combat.
The pace of play is no longer as high and exhausting in Eternal.
Extremely satisfying feedback
Various difficulty adjustment options
Very powerful soundtrack and overall sound quality
The genius of a Mick Gordon is missing
The missions with Atlan and the dragons have a potential that is lagging behind.
The story is still largely insignificant.
Well-implemented shield parade system
Varied and customizable arsenal
Excellent longevity with 22 chapters
Captivating and adrenaline-filled soundtrack
New mechanics that enrich the gameplay without altering it.
The story begins without too many compliments or explanations.
The improvement of weapons depends on exploration.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Memorable locations
Interesting set of useful weapons and abilities
Varied opponents
Hurricane gameplay replaced by slow-motion bullet hell battles
Half of the guns are not needed or used much
Missions with the Titan and the Dragon have a great potential, but it's not met
