Stunning Graphics
Solid Music & Voice Acting
Painfully slow and Exposition-Heavy Introduction
Open World Feels a Bit Lifeless

Interesting Alice in Wonderland-ish story with a twist
The sheer number of abilities and upgrades
Expansive landscapes with tons to explore
Likable characters, graphically pleasant, and well-voiced
Above causing music and dialogue to be disconnected
The start can feel slow for non-story-focused people

Devastating magic
A beautiful finish and fluidity
The DualSense, well exploited
Flash charging times
A real freedom of exploration
Surprisingly narrative, without unnecessary dispersion
Very well paced
Magic is really fun to use
Frey, often unbearable
A story maybe a little too simple
An ergonomics of spells that twists the fingers a little at first
A rhythm chopped by incessant cuts
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Fresh and dynamic gameplay
Open world mechanics too traditional

Many magical abilities
Fun Parkour System
Many repetitive tasks
Athia hardly invites you to explore

New outfit, lore, and map add to the narrative
More developed relationships with new characters
Streamlined magical abilities ease you into combat
High price considering the content
Average graphics leave much to be desired

The exploration is great, all thanks to its wonderful mechanics of movement and parkour
Its combat system goes less and more, and works like a charm.
Great visuals and a great BSO
The open world design is loose and archaic
There are performance issues

A convincing game world full of side activities, even if sometimes repetitive
The use of magic parkour is very satisfying and helps a lot in alleviating the feeling of being inside an unnecessarily large map.
Graphically fluctuating (to be an exclusively next-gen game)

A lovingly thought-out world
Stable performance
Great light/magic effects
Stylish graphics
Angular control
Frustration with barriers
Aspects a little too cute

Addictive Traverse Skills
Massive Map Full Of Quests
Over The Top Action RPG

Artistically valid.
Good soundtrack.
An unengaging world.
Anachronistic structure of the open world.

Very interesting game world with well distributed points of interest
Simple but effective plot, good voice acting and excellent soundtrack
Technical fluctuation
Exploration after a while becomes too mechanical, the map is "bland"
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Combat is cathartic and frenetic
Cuff is great
Writing is hit and miss
Everything feels kind of messy

The sections of Cipal and their poor secondary missions.
A wider variety of enemy types and optional bosses is missing.

Interactions between Frey and Cuff

Magic parkour is so much fun.
Unexciting plot
Obvious production limitations.

Magical works of parkour
Artistic design in its original way
Graphically not the top
Fluctuating plot

Fast crossing that ties into gameplay
Trees and deep magic spell abilities
Well-paced campaign
Generic open-world design
Uninspired enemy design, lack of variety

The dynamism of the gameplay
The soundtrack
the use of the Dualsense
The diversity of spells
Empty areas at times
Little diversity in terms of enemies
Side quests

Parkour elements integrated into combat and exploration.
A great diversity of magic.
The fight has several well-accomplished moments.
A silk at the level of performance.
Great use of DualSense.
Secondary characters and quite simple story.
Athia is too beautiful a world for her to have so little to do.
More types of enemies are missing.

Dubbed in French
Incredible special effects for magic
Parkour offers a very pleasant freedom of movement
A new license made in Square Enix
An almost exclusively female cast
Very good fighting sensations once past the first eight hours
A vast Open World...
A scenario too agreed
Totally failed and repetitive first hours
A concern for readability for confrontations
A ridiculous level design for dungeons
A bit short
A game that really reveals itself in pain
An inconsistent framerate in performance and ray-tracing mode
A terribly annoying heroine
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

New magical powers.
Strange entrance without a real prelude.
Flat figures, even our guide.
Still a lot of pseudo-cool language.

The exploration that is the master asset of the game
Good OST produced by Bear Macreary
An explosion of beautiful colors and power with magic
A very slow and long start before really being interesting
Some pretty wide shots
Parkour is very fun to play?
A poorly exploited history
A camera and a target lock that are your worst enemies
Boring side quests
A little short lifespan (about 10 hours of play for the main scenario and double to finish the game 100% in normal mode)
A lot of inconsistencies, scripting facilities and a largely predictable outcome
The character of Frey who is annoying, rude without real interest
A VF totally at the pick-up
Poor lip syncing
Graphically unworthy of the Playstation 5
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Parkour movement is phenomenally fun
Combat is fast paced and rewarding
Spell and item customization lets you build Frey to best suit your style
Actor performances were great, despite poor dialogue
Poor, cringe-inducing dialogue really made it hard to sit through at times
Visual compromises muddle beautiful art direction
Performance issues plague Forspoken, never providing a stable experience

Interesting and fun side activities
Very appropriate and well done boss fights...
Too many movies that break the rhythm of the game, and sometimes useless
... but they are 4 on the cross in the whole main story

Spells are well designed with plenty of variety
The open world holds some interesting side quests
Particle effects, everywhere
Outside of the combat, the rest of the package feels surprisingly poor
Too many particles, not enough texture quality where it?s needed
Open world feels sparse in places
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

The characters and their hair and garments look incredibly detailed
Elemental particle effects look superb
Great voice acting for the most part
You can turn down Frey/Cuff's interruption frequency in accessibility settings!
It's definitely open for a sequel.

World can be interesting at times
Dialogue can be off-putting at times

Combat eventually becomes a good time with lots of variety
Story turns a corner and isn't that bad, actually
Cringey dialogue and boring detours are a pain
Pacing issues mean the opening hours are a real slog
Interesting plot
Mobility skills
Monotone content
Very rough around the edges
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Some odd design decisions

Magical parkour leads to fun traversal
Strong combat design
Spells are fun to use
Post-story quests are a nice touch
Story feels like it drags at many points
Action can be tough to keep up with
Some side quests can close off forever
Labyrinth design feels slightly disappointing

Humor and chemistry between the duo of main characters
The RPG system
The map filled with different objectives
Visually unconvincing in 2023
Few combat options (combos, weapons etc)
A story too banal
An ultra slow pace

No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Travel, magical in every sense of the word
Fights are a minimum of fun
Some successful effects and scenery
Loading times almost non-existent
The operation of the DualSense
The music and dubbing are of good quality
The open world, too big and without much interest in the end
Lack of challenge
Disappointing main content and hardly captivating side content
Not always very pretty

Excellent sound
An unlimited game world full of things to do...
Telling bland stories
This is not the technical miracle we thought

An interesting and varied bestiary
A panel of magic and very varied moves
The large number of accessibility options available
Too many dialogues and cutscenes that break the rhythm of the game
Too few scripted and interesting side quests
The animations of the characters very unrealistic

Almost non-existent loading times
Nice music, with in mind the main theme and its variations
Beautiful spell and parkour animations
Oddly taking
Critical accessibility settings
Real writing problems
An open world as big as generic and repetitive
Poorly calibrated progression, equipment and loot systems (+ 1600 chests !!???)
A legibility in suffering, between uninspired interface and sometimes cluttered action
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Magical parkour is functional and a beauty for the eyes
Soudtrack inspired
The protagonist is unbearable from beginning to end
Many technical limitations, not a next-gen title

Enjoyable traversal
Decent sense of progression
Some good accessibility settings
Inspired music at points
Later spells look fantastic
Big boss battles are a spectacle
Disjointed, boring storytelling
Mind-numbing side quests
Off-putting open world clutter

Parkour, well designed and fun
The different magics and the materialization of the elements
Non-existent loading times
A gigantic playground with many activities
A story that does not mark the spirits
A world far too empty and very little varied
The bestiary that does not reflect the gigantism of Athia
Many small visual bugs

Traversal powers are a lot of fun to use
The matriarchal world is an original setting not often seen in RPGs
Sidequests are wastes of time
Quippy dialogue falls flat

Gorgeous terrain
Endless cutscenes
Unlikeable characters

The comic and harmonious interaction between the two main characters
The RPG side not unpleasant
A map with varied objectives.
Few surprises in a vast and empty world.
A banal and uncatchy story
Repetition of combat phases without much value
An extremely slow pace

Magic parkour, largely successful
Occasionally beautiful in its landscapes...
A wobbly dubbing in English version
It speaks, it speaks, but let it speak
A staging flush with the daisies serving an uneven progression
A boring open world inflated with dispensable sideways
Confusing, repetitive and far too long fights
... Often ugly in his characters
Framerate too inconsistent in Performance mode

The parkour really does feel magical
+
The accessibility options are broad and varied
+
The spells feel genuinely impactful
A proper noun-heavy, uncompelling story
-
Inconsistent pacing both narratively and mechanically
-
Some particularly rough animation during cutscenes
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Occasionally fun parkour
Boring, poorly paced story
Disappointing visuals and performance
Empty open world
HDR and light bloom ruin the visuals

Combat has some hidden depth to it and Frey is capable of some impressive feats
Impressive attention to detail and effort put into the flavor text
Abilities are gradually introduced and there are a lot to play with
PlayStation 5 controller haptics give the playability a satisfying crunch
There are some embarassing examples of amateurish lighting
Obvious recycle assets become distratcing
Rotten with tedious Ubisoft-like open-world design philopshy
There are many aspects of the lore that are unbelievable

Combat is fun in open areas.
Beautiful scenery
Cramped spaces are the worst.
Camera works against you.
Awful dialog and bad voice acting.
Out-of-touch writing makes Frey unlikable.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Magic can be fun if you get a good run at it (IYKYK)
A great line can make magical parkour look and feel cool, but it doesn't happen often
Unlikeable characters every which way you look
World design and level design is appalling
No sense of art or colour -- a bland world devoid of life
Magical parkour is more hindrance than help
Terrible, terrible writing
Screen-tearing
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Combat effects are dazzling
Big areas to explore
Script isn't stellar
Frey will divide opinion
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
... you prefer linear storytelling over large open worlds.
You like action and speed.
You wish for a lot of new things.
...if you want to discover a lot of things.
