The recreation of Hogwarts and its surroundings is amazing
The combat system is better than I expected
The large number of playable systems you need to discover
Some systems promise a lot, but fall short
the absence of certain characteristic elements of the saga such as, for example, Quidditch
A little more freedom in dialogue or decision-making would have been appreciated.

Fantastic audio/visual representation of the world of Hogwarts
Lots to see and do across multiple playthroughs
Minor bugs and glitches

Masterful and original story and epic dialogues
Enchanting spells are really fun
Eye-dropping, detailed, vibrant visuals and beautiful music
Exciting activities including fun classes
Great combat mechanism and intense boss fights
No Quidditch tournament
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Visuals
So much side content
Spell swapping is tedious

Lots of magic and tough fighting on paper, but...
A world of the right size, full of secrets to discover and areas to explore
Avatar creation and very good aesthetic management
Fidelity bordering on obsession with details
... The difficulty level is a bit low

Engaging, challenging combat
So much to see and do
Tremendous fan service
Superb musical score
Repetitive dialogue
Story is weak compared to source material
Lousy character creator

Excellent service life (30 to 60 hours)
Visual quality (Hogwarts Castle, Hogwarts Village, etc.)
Excellent story

Stunning graphics on performance and fidelity modes
Variety of Accessibility options
Easy to understand combat with some challenge to it.
A thoughtful story with a variety of side quests to keep players engaged
Forced side quests to increase storage space without explanation
No Morality system
NPC interactions are mimimal
Some fetch quests can get bugged.

Rich open world full of content;
The best possible wizarding world themed experience.
Absence of a karma system;
Some small technical imperfections.

Spells, spells, potions, brooms, squid
Open and living world
Sense of character growth
Fantastic sound cap
Emotionless dialogues

The soundtrack is impeccable
The story is entertaining from start to finish
The absence of a photo mode is felt
I feel the need to play Quidditch

Absolutely new generation graphics
Captivating and varied gameplay
A soundtrack worthy of the series
Menus slow down the action of the game a lot
Some missions are vague about how to carry them out and take a lot of time
Level of difficulty calibrated downwards

Awesome combat system
Incredibly good open-world experience
HP Universe optimally implemented
An exciting story
Many spells
Living world
Long-term motivation
Character editor
Slight stuttering in places

Accessibility
A lot of fidelity to the original work
Striking graphics and soundtrack
Excellent performance on PS5
Main story progression
Completionists will have to repeat many actions

The scholastic approach to an RPG is a refreshing one that helps the context of levelling and growing like none before it
Great writing
An excellent cast who all deliver brilliantly
Fantastic combat
Can be deliciously dark at times
Not nearly as polished as it should have been
A few glaring design decisions that didn't feel fully thought out

A new and immersive story
The diversity of gameplay (quests, missions, relationships)
All the little secrets of Hogwarts to discover
The immensity of the world to travel
Dynamic and eclectic combat
The slow pace of narrative progression
No quidditch or multi

Gorgeous visuals
Combat and exploration is thrilling
Engaging story and characters
Some technical issues
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Immense sense of scale.
Engaging and complex combat.
A ton of secrets to discover.
Lack of focus on the social aspects of Hogwarts life.

Perfectly Realised World To Explore
A Huge Variety Of Activities To Undertake
Story Doesn't Reach The Highs Of The Books

Open world is precisely as big as it needs to be, and feels genuinely alive
Side stories are exceptional pieces of optional content
Player fantasy is rock solid ? be the wizard or witch you always dreamed of being
Can?t name a single task or objective that feels tedious or un-fun
No limits, no problem
Needs an FOV slider
Odd audio bugs for player dialogue

Very regular automatic backups
Well-distributed tutorials throughout the main quest
Very wide range of accessibility options
Mysterious "Old Magic" works as an interesting premise for the main quest
A successful game structure keeps Hogwarts relevant and interesting for a long time
Unusual combat system rewards combined spell effects
Dungeons use spells for engaging puzzles
Does the open world offer fun activities and entertaining side quests? The latter sometimes with several solutions
The talent menu is manageable, but offers interesting spell upgrades
Lots of small mechanics from potion brewing to equipment reinforcement ? but without a flood of crafting materials
Strong atmosphere thanks to occasional story events, contextual commentary from characters, NPCs and enemies and many other details
Travel comfortably through brooms, mounts and fast travel points
A lot of fan service, which is not always visibly rubbed under the nose
Huge attention to detail at Hogwarts and Hogesmeade
Enchanted object animations offer a lot of movement in the scenery
Beautifully designed English landscape in which very rarely the feeling of copying and pasting arises
Good German dubbing
Very successful soundtrack, which often creates a cinematic atmosphere
Pulling up the edges does not always succeed on the first attempt
Struggles tend to be hectic and confusing
The main quest progresses slowly and the enemy danger remains unclear
Even the characters with interesting facets suffer from the rigidity of many dialogues
Especially in the beginning, the equipment inventory is constantly full to the brim.
Sometimes mistakes like suspending clothing physics and contracting objects
NPCs are sometimes loaded with brooms or hippogriffs only after landing
Short loading breaks if you quickly switch between indoor and outdoor Hogwarts
Occasional strange translation decisions like "Mega-Power-Potion"
The switch to English voice output surprisingly tedious
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Lots of choices in graphics modes
Graphically very detailed
The world is full of things to do
Combining spells is fat
Atmospheric presentation
Ghosting in 60 and 120fps modes

The castle is sensational
Fast, well-designed spells
An original and fresh story in the wizarding world
Moderate Italian dubbing

A huge amount to get involved
The visuals are awesome
Voice over
Magic spells
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Combat is action-packed and engaging
Massive open-world to explore
Plenty of activities to take part in
Perfectly captures the universe
Plenty of gear to collect

Dynamic, action-packed combat
A huge open world to explore with lots to do
Soundtrack level
A real gift for fans of the magical world of Harry Potter
The story without being bad, could be more interesting
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

A unique open world filled with secrets and homages to the series
Music sounds like it is from the movies
Stiff reused animations
Little of the open world is used.

Very good story, which follows the universe of Harry Potter
Multitude of quests, challenges, collectionsâ¦
Huge game card
Feeling like spending a year at Hogwarts
Secondary characters a little smooth, especially the Slytherins: no rivalry between the houses of Hogwarts

Exploration.
The combat system.
Tradition and mythology applied perfectly.
You spend a lot of time on the Field Guide menu.
It takes a lot of grinding to progress.

Addictive Combat
Character Customization
Graphics and Visuals
Traversal
Musical Score
Missed Opportunity For Potential Multiplayer Mode
Inconsistent Lip-Synching
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Surprises around every corner
Well-thought-out game mechanics
Canon exploited to perfection and integrated as well with the new elements
Technical impossibility of being "everything you expect"
[8.8/10] reviewed at 12/05/2023 - Hogwarts Legacy Recensione: magia su old-gen [read the full review on GamesVillage]

Graphically impressive
Fun and varied missions, even go for quests do not boring
Filled with activities
Not all quests are interesting from a narrative perspective

Opportunity to explore Hogwarts and its surroundings in detail
A narrative accessible to all, but fans will love some references to movies and novels...
The "Single Player" adventure more than convincing...
The initial customization of the protagonist can be improved
... But some elements related to the protagonist and the lessons are not totally convincing.
... But a minimum of interaction between players would have been interesting

Never a dull moment

Customization and well exploration
The wizarding world is recreated with spectacular passion
Revisable optimization
Some small technical blunders

Dynamic and fun combat system.
Simple but interesting story.
Original soundtrack of the film.
Empty highlands with activities that tend to repeat themselves.

Hogwarts castle is brought to life faithfully in loving detail
Extensive list of side quests to pursue
Lack of enemy variety means combat can feel repetitive
Main story conceit feels uninspired

Playing dress-up with all the gear is silly but in a good way
Combat is extremely satisfying
Dark Arts usage is completely optional

The graphics are rather surprising
The soundtrack is extraordinary
The mechanisms are simple to understand
Lifespan of the story
Small visual bugs
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Spells: form of intense combat, interesting puzzles and dynamic exploration.
The room of need will surprise many.
Control in combat.
This slows down progress in the story by forcing you to do tasks or level up.

Fun combat, pleasantly complex character system
countless nostalgic moments for Harry Potter fans
Wide range of main and side quests (heavy in history)
Many beautiful puzzles, sometimes delicate
NPCs mostly friendly
Very good vocal output
High single-player play time (at least 20-25 hours)
Overall, beautiful graphics...
Open world more mass than quality
Part confusing map, and (too) few tips for puzzles
Occasional grinding stresses
The main story quite low in tension

good technology, especially in indoor spaces
Hogwarts is always an impressive setting
Numerous raids, activities and side missions
Incredibly high production quality, also for music and speakers
Partially sharp and highly dynamic combat with cool magic combos
incredibly extensive
Animal education
Growing plants and brewing potions
Very good side quests
A varied magic
Dungeon passages
Lots of visible attention to detail
The main character is very strong from the beginning and has practically no character
The open world has partly a fairground character
Virtually no moral horror, few consequences
School quickly becomes a minor fun affair
Unforgivable Flights just another spell in the arsenal
Cutscenes cannot be paused
Change of spell attribution in combat a little friemelig
Slight frame rate increase in combat
LoD visible Fade- In in the open world
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

A variety of optional activities that consistently keep you engaged
Hogwarts Castle is lovingly recreated and brimming with staggering detail
Incredible combat that keeps getting better as you get deeper into the game
Looks great.
Uninteresting characters
Student life is de-emphasized
Fairly standard progression systems
Technical issues.

Well-implemented haptic feedback
Clear and fulfilling sense of progression
Excellent soundtrack
System of absent karma
Deepening of the protagonist almost zero

Combat is fun, with a whole variety of spells to mess around with.
So much enjoyable side content to really dig into.
The characters are devoid of charm and personality.
Spell swapping is a real hassle.

A magical open world pushing us to explore constantly?
Well-oiled gameplay?
The world of Wizarding World, adapted and treated with fidelity and respect
Confrontations that are both dynamic and strategic?
Very good lifespan for the genus
The exploitation of the features of the DualSense will appeal to some and some
? Without necessarily achieving a design quality similar to a BOTW
? Even if the jumping mechanics can sometimes be capricious
A roleplay dimension that does not give the impression of exploiting its full potential
? Which require a time of adaptation to master all the subtleties
Infiltration phases without much interest
Small problems of finishing and optimization here and there

The gameplay is very immersive and fun
While finishing the main story, there is still much to explore and collect.
The Requirement Room Management Component
The role-playing component is barely mentioned and is not fundamental
Moral choices do not affect the narrative of the title
The spell selection system can be cumbersome

A captivating story
Sympathetic characters
Detailed world design
Lack of a companion system
Time-consuming inventory management

Excellent orchestration and sound editing.
Pleasant and intense rhythms of rich combat mechanics.
Too much (but very) very material, out of the universe of books, with very beautiful quests ...
Indifferent competitors who fail to give the necessary weight to the central story.
Actions have almost no impact on the world.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Faithful recreation of Hogwarts
+
Thrilling spell-based combat
+
Awesome visual design
An uneasy relationship with the wizarding world
-
Messy progression and economy
-
Bloated open world systems

The atmosphere is clearly respected
Simple game mechanics but that hit the mark
The OST is absolutely superb
And the French dubbing is just as good
The scenario knows how to be taking
Generous in terms of content, without abusing unnecessary quests and activities
The Room on Demand, a well-thought-out mini-sandbox
The graphic pane is to be reviewed
Characters too smooth and not divisive enough according to their houses
Puzzles and puzzles may seem too easy to experienced players

Nicely encapsulates day-to-day student life
Plenty of extracurricular activities
RPG gear system will feel superfluous to some players
Lessons would benefit from more mini games and fewer quick-time events

Engaging combat
Great set-piece missions
Stuffed with systems to learn

Good voice work and presentation
Engaging combat
Satisfying and rewarding exploration
Fun customization options
Steam Deck Verified
Needlessly limited inventory
Clunky spell swapping
Controversial connection to J. K. Rowling

You really play a student at Hogwarts
The variety of spells
Sluggish storytelling
Homework, like at school

Expansive open world
Smooth gameplay mechanics
Abundance of things to discover
Audio placement issues
Tedious side games

Scotch flies
Fights work (mostly) well
Hogwarts beautifully recreated
Very short loading times
Nice surprises
Little connection with other characters
Random graphics level
does not excel in originality
The wide variety of spells and how much fun they are.
It is very long and does not become heavy at all times.
Its graphic and sound section is wonderful.
The speed with which the inventory is constantly filled.
Interesting story and characters
Great magic and combat system
Many magical moments for fans of the franchise
very good rating
