You can oversee a large company of experienced troops. Oversee their daily lives, plan for the future, and overall morale.
Each character can fill in many roles. They can perform multiple duties during a fight, develop new technologies, or staff the train facilities.
The story begins historically accurate but can be altered by player choices. This allows history buffs to know some extra details and even change history.
Combat can be very exciting and intense. This depends on your team composition and training and whether you still have enough supplies.

The entire game is almost like a second job. It is best for those who already enjoy micromanaging in an office setting.
Combat and train maintenance will use much more resources than you can find. You will be scrounging for some type of material - fuel, ammo, medicine, or food.
Character death is extremely common. Do not become attached to soldiers you have been leveling, as they can perish through all circumstances.
With so many characters rotating in and out of story missions, it can be hard to tell who are even the main characters.
The save system is very unintuitive. You cannot freely name saves or delete old ones. It is easy to get confused and wind-up dozens of hours back.
