Improves Massively on the Predecessors
Impressive and Fun Weaponry
Huge Playspace
Mounts and Mechs Break Up the Tedium
Funky Visuals
Somewhat Frustrating Giant Bosses
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of enemies on screen at once
4-player online co-op
Plenty of secrets to discover in each level
Skill tree lets Sam shrug off explosive damage, use signposts as weapons, mount large enemies and more
No loot, gear score, or other modern AAA shooter tropes. Just a Serious man and his gun (or two)
Sprawling open world levels with little to see or do
Every human meets the uncanny valley with strange, dead fish eyes
Artifact skill points are easy to miss

Tons of enemy variation on-screen at any given time
Massive environments to fight in
Online co-op
Cutscenes can be jarring between action encounters
Missing 16-player co-op from past entries
Some bugs that caused enemy spawns to break

Rome looks stellar and offers a variety of environments to traverse
Side objectives add some nice flavor to missions
New gadgets and weapon attachments provide even more fun
Action movie narrative can be entertaining with some decent characterization and voice-acting
Mission objectives often devolve into the same running and gunning from point A to B with few exceptions
Some mechanics, like Melee Finishers and riding enemies, need improvements
Technical glitches and bugs undermine the overall presentation

Good campaign length
Fun game options
Unimpressive graphics
Lengthy loading times
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Level and encounter design is generally good
AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Constant performance drops
Nothing particularly new
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Side missions and upgrades are a nice touch
Frequent auto saves are a blessing?
Gets repetitive too quickly
Overwhelming number of enemies loses its excitement early on

The sheer scale of the huge battles is quite staggering
The gameplay loop lacks any real dynamic
The presentation is quite poor

Gunplay is fun, chaotic and imaginative
Plenty of variety across the campaign's many locations
Doesn't innovate or match up to modern shooters at all

Cooperative play with up to four players
Visual and audio glitches are constant
Poor pacing and artificial difficulty

Combat is designed like the Serious Sam?s of old
Later levels are a lot better because your arsenal is bigger and there?s ammo everywhere
Cannonball gun
Dual-wielding
Yeah, it?s poorly optimised, even with a massive day-one patch
Levels are too long and the wave-to-wave structure wears thin after the first couple of hours
From art direction to level design to animation it?s all borderline shocking to be honest
Some of the worst NPC eyes and character detail you?re likely to see in 2020
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

The music is great.
A well-designed UI.
Annoying sound effects and acting.
Mundane gameplay.

it introduces a skill tree to the series
the gadgets are fun to use.
