Large amount of enjoyable cosmetic options for your ship and crew
Rather fun naval combat, particularly with friends
Somewhat expansive endgame activities with fun PvP mechanics
Process of acquiring new weapons and ships feels way too slow
Lack of on-foot combat or more detailed ship-boarding feels like a missed opportunity

Bloated crafting system

Plenty of customisation

Travel and naval battles
There is still plenty to do despite some repetition.

but rarely interesting
Technically late
The ground gameplay is horribly heavy.
Forgettable scenario, quickly dispatch until the end-game.
Sailing for hours on the sea, not very exciting.
Many small mechanical failures
A multiplayer game with fewer and fewer players? Tough?

The "Pirate" spirit is well respected.
The numerous secrets and activities of the map
The Game as a Service aspect is less aggressive than one would have thought.
A visual rendering that deserved more attention.
A narrative framework too in the background
We feel a certain redundancy at all levels after about ten hours of gameplay.

An exhausting crafting
An uneven achievement
Breathlessness that comes far too quickly

Mechanically underwhelming
Instantly feels dated

Big world
Pool of rudimentary tasks
Little variation
Many quests can only be completed by restarting.

The game has potential if Ubisoft is willing to put in the effort.

No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

The smuggling empire system... which arrives far too late
Some aspects of the game are not bad...
Ship customization
Back and forth, everywhere, all the time.
These little things that irritate
The fights, boring as can be
All by myseeeeelf ?
... others are failed

Runs well with few, if any, bugs
Lacking anything worth discovering in the open world
Combat lacks any depth
Bewildering stamina meter that slows down sailing
Grindy progression with dull rewards

Looks rather pretty
Combat is passable but...
The on-land elements are very underbaked
Quests are extremely one-note
Voice acting isn't brilliant
Harvesting/Crafting loop is fairly rudimentary
MMO elements are more annoying than anything
Constant server issues at the moment (mainly the chat)
Ultimately boring

Customization of the boat and a lot of content to acquire.
In cooperative play, the different strategies of each ship are put to good use.
The missions are becoming a bit monotonous, although this could change in the future.
It is designed to invest many hours in obtaining resources.

An incredible atmosphere thanks to its graphics, art, and sound.
Open world living and with plenty to do: activities, exploration, combat...
The story is anecdotal and its missions may seem repetitive.
The black fades of the charges are a kick in the crotch at the immersive level.
