Verified titles play without any hassle
Comfortable for longer periods of play (if not a bit heavy)
Aggressively priced for the hardware offered
Limit frame rates and TDP to extend battery life at a single button press
Dock and expand your experience to that of a traditional computer
Linux-based Proton support handles games well, assuming they're compatible
Software support and compatibility can only continue to expand before it's in the hands of consumers

Very small selection of Verified titles available at launch
At nearly a pound and a half, this is one beefy portable console (50% heavier than a Nintendo Switch)
Battery life doesn't come close to the promised 'eight hours' for most instances
Experimentation necessary to configure many titles for ideal gameplay
Some external services and launchers have difficulty being compatible with Steam Deck
No on-screen keyboard for the Linux backend, requiring an external keyboard to set up and configure the terminal (Valve promised a patch after launch)
