A satisfying Game of Thrones side.
Epic battles that leave an imprint on the retina.

Incredible character design and psychological development of the characters.
A Hollywood-style production

+
Life-changing...
Few interactions with the scenery.

Enjoyable and layered combat
Wonderful characters
Loads to do
Beautiful visuals
Boss fights are spectacularly animated
Sprinting is unreliable

Extremely customizable combat system that grows over time.
Incredible soundtrack that jumps between styles and genres.
Stellar presentation and a vibrant world that feels rich visually.
Massive Eikon battles that each feel distinct and memorable.
Sidequests are narratively rich but oftentimes simple on the gameplay front.

Captivating characters
Satisfying and action-packed gameplay.
Accessibility resources
Unique soundtrack
Spectacular and varied scenarios.
Good content options outside of the campaign.
Many hours of play
Occasional frame drops
Limited exploitation.

Fantastic combat system
Excellent soundtrack
Graphically and visually a feast for the eyes.

Phenomenal and immersive story and exciting side quests
Gorgeous character and environmental designs
The soundtracks are harmonising

An absolutely superb soundtrack.
the addition of the Chronography, one of the great ideas of the title
The nervous combat system, comprehensive and accessible.
one of my best castings in all FF
The New Game
+ and its more challenging difficulty
A second part of the game that is less fast-paced than the first.
Side quests with uneven content

A violent, bloody, complex and gripping story.
A more mature Final Fantasy, far less "Ado J-Pop".
Almost no downtime or filler
A masterful staging of the fights.
Dynamic fights and an overwhelming display of power.
Endearing characters that we love to follow.
A growing threat and well-executed plot twists
Some will find it too directive or too narrative.
A very complex scenario that would have benefited from being slightly more developed in its first part.
A certain lack of skill trees beyond the abilities of the Primordials.

Smooth fun combat
Epic Eikon fights and cinematics
Beautiful visuals
A nostalgic darker take on classic music
Characters are likable, hateable, and memorable

Great soundtrack
The fights are really fun.
The story is one of the best in the franchise.
The end-game content
This is not an open world.
A very linear game

The combat system. The leaders and duels between Eikons.
At the audiovisual level, it is overwhelming.
The adventurous and role-playing aspect is very neglected. It does not encourage exploration.
The design of levels and secondary missions is too simplistic.

Dynamic and fluid combat
Well-integrated extensions
Stunning graphics and memorable soundtrack
New Eikons and skills

One of the most epic games in history.
Character development
The combat system is deep and enjoyable.
Graphically very powerful and well accompanied by the soundtrack.
The atmosphere is great.

New features will be introduced with tutorials available for a long period of time.
Instead of offering difficulty levels, FF16 offers a system to dynamically simplify or automate features.
The story quickly gains momentum and skillfully balances exposition.
The Active Lore system displays, at any time, upon request, memory aids on characters, kingdoms, and relevant concepts in a scene.
50 hours of gameplay with the New Game Plus mode.
The extremely fun combat system is easy to understand, but offers a lot of depth.
Exciting story full of humor, twists and emotional punches.
A large number of small boss fights with a cathartic offensive following the tactical stun of the enemy.
Epic and overflowing boss battles against huge Espers.
Flexible composition and improvement of fun special attacks.
Many side quests and some activities such as arcade games and monster hunting.
A sustained pace avoids stretched-out sections and minimizes boring journeys through a good distribution of quest objectives.
Beautiful environments, especially in nature.
Impressive cinematics, especially when the huge Espers come into action.
Smooth performance in quality mode.
Strong and powerful landscape design
Grandiose and epic orchestral soundtrack, also featuring catchy tunes outside of battles.
Strong actors compensate for the weaknesses in the facial expressions of the game models.
Also mainly a strong German composition and translation.
The controller is more than adequately occupied with functions.
The role-playing game elements are poorly developed.
Often very linear and with almost no incentive for aimless exploration of open areas.
The layout of a dungeon without imagination rarely offers alternative routes.
Not free from small plot errors.
Wooden facial expression of character models.
The performance mode struggles in the test version with noticeable drops in FPS and significant losses in terms of resolution.
There is little damage backstage during fights.
Individual supporting roles in German dubbing are less convincing.

Captivating characters
The cinematics are beautiful to watch.
Show
Dynamic and versatile combat.
Boss fights
A lot of content
Soundtrack
Good vocal interpretation in English and Japanese.

Intensive and dramatic story, which is always at the center of attention.
Opulent staging with evocative locations.
Superbly crafted Game of Thrones atmosphere.
Captivating real-time combat system.
Many elements of an action-adventure game.
We are experiencing the world of gaming in the present and the past.
Typical brands are completely reinvented.
Brutality is borderline for sensitive souls.
Perceptible jerks during particularly opulent scenes.
The lip synchronization during dialogues in games is not always very clear.
Interchangeable secondary tasks.
No open world.
The inspiration for Game of Thrones is certainly too obvious for some.

Combat system
Graph

Interesting characters
Impressive gaming world
Big Esper fights
Good flow of combat
Great soundtrack
Practical glossary of characters and the world.
Brutal and courageous staging
Hidden old-school graphics in the menus
Stupid side quests
Almost no more role-playing game elements
The story gets stuck from time to time.
Something too close or obviously inspired by Game Of Thrones.
Secondary characters cannot be controlled or customized in any way.
For fans of the traditional Final Fantasy, this can be a bit confusing.
Useless Quicktime events
Not all dialogues are dubbed.

Art direction and execution capable of showcasing the battles to their fullest potential, especially during the awe-inspiring boss fights.
Mature and extremely interesting narrative that immerses us in a simply marvelous gaming world.
Not all side missions are captivating, and furthermore, there is a lack of a true endgame.

The world-building and story are top notch
Final Fantasy finally has respectable action combat
Stellar soundtrack

The different gameplay options to adapt to all players.
The very beautiful technical achievement.
The cast of the game, especially Talgor!
Very large spaces for exploration.
The crazy artistic direction
The exhilaration felt at the end of a fight.
The musical atmosphere
The lifespan, 70 hours with side quests.
Targeting that could be easier.
The impossibility of giving instructions to the team members.
Very pronounced rotation blurs
The (very rare) awkward scenes.
Exploration that is not really rewarded.
The many levels with completely scripted corridors.

Fast-paced combat
+
Clean delivery on its spectacle
+
The most approachable FF yet

Torgal, a fine hound
Doesn't quite match some influences

Certain moves impact visibility

Battle is sleek and finely tuned
There?s a perfect ratio of open world to linear missions
Final Fantasy has clearly learned from its mistakes and created what is simply a masterpiece
Set-piece battles sometimes feel out of sorts
Equipment system was clearly neglected during development

Excellent characters with one of FF's best protagonists
Incredibly well-realised world that feels dense and lived in
Expressive action combat with great player choice through Eikons
Glorious visual showpiece for the PS5
Third act could have done with another climactic Eikon fight
Performance mode suffers from inconsistency

Engaging and captivating gameplay
Artistically superb, both visually and audibly.
Technically solid...
Questionable management of secondary schools
Exploration for exploration itself

Great combat system, which hooks you from the first minute and never gets tiresome.
Its artistic design is exceptional, which is particularly evident in the sets.
Incredible and memorable soundtrack from the talented Soken.
The role of the component is anecdotal, and beyond fighting, there is not much to do.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

The best this series has looked
Engaging combat and enjoyable mechanics
Cinematics inspired by great movies
Performance mode is not consistent in performance
Doing side quests offset the balance of the story sections.

High-quality graphics

A good lifespan
Dynamic gameplay
Some camera problems
Some rare framerate issues
We would have liked a slightly more open world.

A high-quality French version.
A soundtrack worthy of the most beautiful FF.
Iconic characters and creatures
A dark universe that deserves its PEGI18 rating.
Some slightly redundant mob fights
Many side quests are too "FEDEX-like".
Cinematics and more cinematics.
A slightly outdated graphic aspect
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Captivating, adult and emotional story.
Gameplay extended beyond 50 hours.
Help functions for beginners in Action.
Various skills and bonus talents.
Some boring side missions.
The dialogues and intermediate sequences sometimes drag on.
Only car sprints during zone exploration.

Clive, who we enjoy watching evolve.
A combat system more sophisticated than one might think.
All the powers of the Primordials are interesting to use.
The staging of Primordial battles is insane.
A soundtrack that knocks out.
A small handful of standout side quests.
Interesting hunting contracts
Some panoramas that remain in mind.
Accessibility equipment to fight more easily
Chronography and all the documented aspect of the universe which is very useful.
Flawless dubbing, especially in English.
Torgal <3 (no translation needed as it is a name and a heart emoji)
Readability that could be improved.
Some fights that drag on.
Exploration rewards little.
Many forgettable side quests.
A Performance mode that requires more care.
Sometimes too dull.
A dissonance between the original version and the French version in the subtitles that is bothersome.

Dynamic and satisfying combat system...
Almost stripped-down RPG components.
...but only in the second half of the adventure.
Uninspiring and repetitive soundtrack.

Artistically impressive.

Shallow gameplay at the beginning of the game.
The uneven staging
A fluctuating framerate

A solid reinforced concrete (English) dubbing cast.
The visceral and brutal fights that never forget to be technical.
An approach to building that leaves a lot of room for experimentation.
The Primordial duels, crazy to watch...
A masterful soundtrack
An authentic graphic success...
The Active Time Lore is a good idea, we admit it (see box).
...And not crazy to play.
... But a technically imperfect performance mode
The outdated staging of the dialogues.

Dense and absorbing universe
Charismatic characters
Very, very talkative.
Difficult gameplay to judge

Final Fantasy-flavored Character Action-style combat
Lots of side quests that enhance the story and gameplay
Huge, ridiculous kaiju/mecha-style boss fights
Lore tools are well-implemented and fun to use
Competing plot elements clash at times
Non-combat systems feel under-cooked
Fumbles with supporting characters (especially women)

Phenomenal combat
Another world-class score from composer Masayoshi Soken
Similarly, some boss fights are too long for their own good

Successful arcade combat system
Basic role-playing game exploration and mechanics
Fascinating world, but empty.

Engrossing story and voice work
Action-focused combat
Satisfying optional content and replay value
Inconsistent frame rate
Rudimentary RPG elements
Lacks customizable button layouts

Engaging story

Visually stunning game
Some over-the-top cheeky dialogues here and there

- Lack of strategy to combat
- Exploration is painfully pointless

Very well contextualized
Rent in the credits

An honorable lifespan and a nice New Game

Convincing dubbing in Italian.
Immediate combat system...
Very thin role-playing game component
Highs and lows in technology

Rich and complete, exciting story from beginning to end with interesting and new themes for the series.
Complex adult protagonists inserted in a context that allows them to shine.
Uncommon graphics and design for a world that is truly motivated to explore.
Texts and dubbing entirely in Italian.
Torgal is the big dog that we all need.

A masterful soundtrack that greatly contributes to the show.
The titanic clashes, quintessence of this final fantasy.
Many endearing characters, well-written and with meticulous character design, starting with Clive.
The variety of "levels" and their replayability to relive the highlights of the Epic.
Particularly effective and accessible action gameplay.
A very good lifespan for those who want to do everything.
An excellent French dubbing, made by professionals in the industry.
A slight lack of diversity in the biomes of exploration zones.
